Why are my dashboard thumbnails blank?
If you see an older project showing a blank thumbnail, try making a few edits. You don’t need to republish the site. After editing you’ll be able to see a new, higher resolution thumbnail showing after a few minutes.
Why are they blank, exactly?
On December 12th, 2023 we released a Dashboard Refresh featuring larger, higher resolution thumbnails for your sites. Projects edited after the update will show the new thumbnails automatically. Projects that were edited prior to this date will display placeholders instead, since the old thumbnails have an incompatible format.
How can I refresh them?
If you see projects displaying blank thumbnails, try making a few edits to the projects. You don’t need to republish the site. After editing you’ll be able to see a new, higher resolution thumbnail showing after a few minutes.
How can I customize a thumbnail?
If you’re unhappy with how your thumbnail was generated, you have the ability to fully customize it. To do so, you can add a canvas frame with a size of 600 × 740, which will precisely cover the thumbnail at @2x resolution. After adding the content you wish to the frame, right click and choose ‘Set as Thumbnail’. You change will take effect in a few minutes.
How do I unset a custom thumbnail?
To remove a custom thumbnail, you’ll have to delete the frame that is set to be the custom thumbnail. We’re working on adding an option to unset it directly from the context menu.
