Understanding member roles in an organization

As your organization grows, it's crucial to align each member's role with their current responsibilities and the organization's needs.

This guide will walk you through the process of reviewing and adjusting member roles across different workspaces under your Enterprise contract. Every enterprise client has an Organization attached to their Enterprise Contract. An Organization can have multiple workspaces inside.

Understanding your organization settings

Your organization settings provide a summary of all the members and workspaces. To get a high-level overview of your account, follow these steps:

  1. After logging into your Framer account, go to the Dashboard. Then, choose the workspace using the Workspace selector.

  2. Click on "Settings" in the left sidebar.

  3. Within the Organization settings, find and click on the "Members" tab. Here, you will find an overview of all your organization members.

  1. By clicking on any of the members, you will see a detailed view of the specific member, including their last active dates and their roles in each workspace they are a part of.

To remove a member from any workspace they are part of, simply click on the role of that specific workspace and choose "Remove from team". If you need to adjust their access levels instead of removing them, go to the Workspace Settings for further actions.

Adjusting roles in Workspace Settings

If you need to adjust the roles of any of your organization members, you can do so from within the Workspace settings.

  1. After logging into your Framer account, go to the Dashboard. Then, choose the workspace using the Workspace selector.

  2. Click on "Settings" in the left sidebar.

  3. Within the Workspace settings, find and click on the "Members" tab. Here, you will find an overview of all your workspace members. You can also filter by role, so you will be able to see at a glance the members that have a specific role.

  4. By clicking on the user's role, you can view available options like granting editor permissions or removing the member from the workspace.

Each role within your organization comes with specific permissions and access levels. Understanding these roles will help you make informed decisions when assigning or changing a member's role.
